Create and format a note

I want to …

… write a note, format it, and add links.

Before you start

  • The free plan caps the number of notes.
  • The Random Note is not your empty page – it is a fixed sheet.

Here's how

  1. Open Notes in the navigation.
  2. Tap New note at the top.
  3. Type the Note title. The full-height editor sits below.
  4. Use the toolbar for bold, lists, and the five link types.
  5. In a checklist or bullet list, Tab indents the line and Shift+Tab moves it back. Enter on an empty item goes one level back; on the outermost level it turns into normal text.
  6. #, ##, ###, ####, and @ work as they do on a task.
  7. Tap the Save checkmark. Visibility and pin sit in the same bar.
  8. If you leave with unsaved text – back arrow, another tab, the workspace switcher, or the timer light in the rail – Unsaved changes appears: Cancel stays, Discard throws the edit away, Save writes it.
  9. Back takes you to the list. The note sits under All notes, newest change first.

The result

The note is saved, searchable, and can link to tasks.

Common questions

Can I leave a note without a title?

Yes. It then appears as Untitled.
