Use web links on tasks and notes
I want to …
… see, open, and tidy the web links that hang on a task or note.
Before you start
- The section
Web linksshows up only once a task or note has at least one web link. Today you add them withAttach …from the parking lot. - It works on every plan. Everyone who can edit the task or note can open, copy, park, and remove its web links: on tasks Owner, Admin, and Member; on notes the author, and for public notes every member.
Here's how
- Open the task or note.
- On a task,
Web linkssits belowAttachments. On a note, it sits right below the title and the link pills, above the toolbar. - The section starts folded. Its header shows the count, for example
3/50. - Tap the header to open it. Tap it again to fold it. The arrow on the right turns with it.
- Each row shows the first letter of the host, the title, and the host.
- Tap a row to open the link. In the iPhone, iPad, and Android app it opens in the in-app browser.
- On a phone, press and hold a row for its menu. On desktop, click its three dots (
More). Copy linkputs the address on the clipboard and saysCopied.Parkputs a copy on your parking lot. The web link stays on the task or note.Removetakes the web link off and saysWeb link removed.TapUndoto hang it back on.- In the iPhone, iPad, and Android app the menu also has
Open in browser, which opens the link in your browser instead of the in-app one.
The result
The web links of a task or note sit together in one folded section and stay out of the way until you need them.
Common questions
Why do I not see the section?
The task or note has no web links yet. The section only shows up once one is attached.
Is there a limit?
Yes, 50 web links per task or note, on every plan.
What if my parking lot is full?
On Free the parking lot holds 30 links. When it is full, Park parks nothing and says 1 link did not fit. The parking lot is full. The web link stays on the task or note. Let go of links on the parking lot, or switch to Pro.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes. Removing and Undo work offline and sync once you are back online. After Attach … the parked link leaves the list at once, but the confirmation appears only when you are online again.
Does duplicating a task copy its web links?
Yes, also into another workspace.
Do web links show up in the description or note text?
No. They live in their own section, so the text stays as you wrote it.
