Duplicate a task

I want to …

… copy a task in the same workspace or into another one.

Before you start

  • You must be a member of both workspaces if the copy goes elsewhere.
  • When you copy across workspaces, assignee, topic, links, and recurrence stay behind. Attachments are copied.

Here's how

  1. Open the task.
  2. Scroll down and tap Duplicate.
  3. In Duplicate task you can edit the title. The default is Title (copy).
  4. Under Workspace pick the destination. The current workspace is preselected.
  5. Confirm. Zeitlicht creates the copy and shows Copied to ….
  6. Open the destination workspace if you copied there. The card sits in a matching column on that board.

The result

There is a second task. In the same workspace, references stay. Across workspaces, workspace-bound references are stripped.

Common questions

Are checklists copied?

Yes. The checked state comes along.

Can I copy into a workspace I do not belong to?

No. The destination list only shows workspaces where you are a member.
