See what needs you

I want to …

… see, across every workspace, the tasks and notes that need you now.

Before you start

  • Activity uses the circle in the navigation. Topics and tags now live under Settings.
  • A dot on the Activity icon means something is unread.
  • Mentions, assignments, comments, test requests, and new bugs are kept for 90 days.

Here's how

  1. Open Activity in the navigation.
  2. My tasks is the title on the left, and the one that opens. Sections are Overdue, Due today, Next 7 days, In progress, and Waiting for your test. Empty sections stay hidden.
  3. In progress is every open task assigned to you that is not in a Backlog or Done column and not already listed under a due date.
  4. A task someone just assigned you shows New until you have read that assignment in Inbox.
  5. Under each task sit the workspace, when you have more than one, the board, and the topic. Tap a task to open it.
  6. Each task has two icons. The board icon, Open board, opens that workspace and that board. The focus icon, Focus on this task, marks it as your focus and switches to that task's workspace and board in the background, so the light column and the focus bar use that timer. If Hyperfocus is on, the app opens the Focus tab. The row and the card on the board then share the focus frame. End focus clears it.
  7. Filter can limit by priority, Only with a due date, Include backlog, or one workspace. Include backlog is off until you turn it on, so a task in a Backlog column stays out of every section, including ones with a due date.
  8. Sort orders by Due date, Priority, or Last changed, and groups By status or By workspace.
  9. Switch to Inbox on the right. It groups items into Today, Yesterday, This week, and Earlier.
  10. Each row names who did it, the task or note, and a short excerpt. Under a task sit the workspace, when you have more than one, the board, and the topic.
  11. An unread row has a dot. Tap the row to open the task or note. It is marked read.
  12. On a wide screen, hover a row for Mark as read or Mark as unread. Mark all as read sits in the app bar when anything is unread.
  13. Open Filter to limit by Mentions, Assignments, Comments, Testing, Unread only, or one workspace.
  14. Open Sort for Newest first or Oldest first.

The result

You see what changed for you, and which of your open tasks are due or waiting. The list uses the full width and stays at the left, so the scrollbar sits at the screen edge. An empty Inbox says Ran out of side quests. An empty My tasks says Seen it all, done it all. Those lines sit in the centre of the screen.

Common questions

Why is a comment missing?

Comments appear when you are assigned to the task or watching it, and you did not write the comment. A comment that @ mentions you shows up as a mention instead.

Does a private note mention me?

No. Mentions in a note appear only after the note is public.

Where are backlog tasks?

They stay out of every section until you turn on Include backlog.
