Reset a forgotten password

I want to …

… choose a new password because I forgot the old one.

Before you start

  • Works on every plan (Free, Pro, Ultra) and for every role.
  • You need access to the inbox of your account email.

Here's how

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?.
  2. Enter your email and tap Send reset link.
  3. Open the email "Reset your Zeitlicht password" and tap Reset password. Zeitlicht opens on the Set new password screen.
  4. Your email is already filled in. Enter the new password under New password and repeat it under Confirm password. It needs at least 8 characters.
  5. Tap Set new password.

The result

Your password is changed and you are signed in right away. If you use a password manager in your browser, it offers to save or update the password for your email.

Common questions

The page says the link has expired or was already used.

Each link works only once and only for a short time. Tap Request new link and use the newest email.

My password manager still fills in the old password.

Accept the "update password" prompt after you set the new password. If you dismissed it, edit the saved entry in your password manager by hand.

Why does my new password need 8 characters?

Zeitlicht accepts only passwords with at least 8 characters, both when you set one and when you sign in.
