Add a task

I want to …

… quickly add a new task in a column.

Before you start

  • Anyone in the workspace can add tasks.
  • The free plan caps active tasks. See the plans and limits article.

Here's how

  1. Open Board and scroll to the target column, for example Today.
  2. The Add task field sits at the bottom of the column.
  3. Tap it and type the title.
  4. Press Enter or tap the plus next to the field.
  5. The card appears in the column. Which modules it already shows (date, priority, checklist, …) depends on Task modules in Board settings for this board.
  6. Tap the new card if you want a description, an assignee, or more modules.
  7. In Focus the field only appears when the slot is free. If a task is already there, move it out first.

The result

The task sits as a card in the chosen column and can be edited or moved right away.

Common questions

Why is the field missing in Focus?

Focus holds only one task. When the slot is taken, Zeitlicht hides Add task there.

Can I create a task in Done?

Yes. A work column is usually better; move it to Done when the work is actually finished.
