Accept a free Pro or Ultra invitation

I want to …

… use Pro or Ultra for free because the Zeitlicht team invited me.

Before you start

  • You need the link from the invitation email. It comes from the sender ZEITLICHT.
  • The invitation only works for the email it was sent to.
  • If the Zeitlicht app is installed on your iPhone or Android phone, the link opens the invitation right in the app.
  • The link works for 30 days. A free trial does not start when the mail is sent. Its days start when you accept.
  • The invitation is either a free trial for a set number of days or free for life. The email and the invitation page say which.

Here's how

  1. Open the link. With the app installed, the invitation opens there, otherwise in the browser. The page names the plan, for example You're invited to Zeitlicht Ultra, and the offer: Free for 90 days. The days start when you accept. or Free for life. Your address is shown masked, like This invitation is for a****@example.com.
  2. New to Zeitlicht: tap Create account and accept. The form Create your account asks for a Display name, an avatar, Appearance (Dark or Light), a Password, Confirm password, and the terms. Your email is already set by the invitation and is not asked again. Tap Create account and accept below the form. Zeitlicht creates the account and accepts in one step. If you do have an account after all, tap Sign in instead.
  3. Already have an account and signed out: the page says You already have a Zeitlicht account. Sign in to accept this invitation. Tap Sign in. The sign-in screen arrives with the invited address filled in, and brings you back to the invitation afterwards.
  4. Signed in with the invited address: tap Accept invitation. Later keeps the invitation open and takes you to your workspaces. Sign out signs you out without accepting.
  5. Signed in with a different address: you see This invitation is for a****@example.com. Sign out to continue with that address. Tap Sign out and come back with the invited address. Later takes you to your workspaces with the account you are signed in with.
  6. If you still pay for a subscription in a store or through Stripe, the dialog Your subscription keeps running appears after accepting. Tap Manage subscription to cancel it, or Close to keep it.
  7. If the link has expired, you see This invitation has expired. Ask for a new link. If it was revoked, already used, or is unknown, you see This invitation is no longer valid. Back to sign in forgets the invitation.
  8. Signed up with the invited address without using the link, and verified it: open the plans screen, for example by tapping the plan row in Settings. The box You have an invitation to Ultra shows the offer. Tap Accept invitation in the box.
  9. In a phone's browser, the invitation shows Prefer the app? below it. On Android, Open in app opens the invitation in the app, or Google Play when the app is missing. On iPhone, App Store leads to the app. After installing, sign in with the invited address, or tap the link in the email again. New to Zeitlicht: sign up in the app with the invited address, then tap Verify email in the verification mail on the phone. It opens the app, and Choose your plan shows the invitation.

The result

The invited plan is active right away. In Settings, the Plan block shows Ultra trial with the end date, for example Until Jan 12, 2027, or Pro, free for life. When you signed up through the link, Zeitlicht skips the verification mail and the plan picker, takes you through the short first-run tour, and then you create your first workspace.

Common questions

What happens when the trial ends?

From 14 days before the end, a banner reminds you, for example Your Ultra trial ends in 7 days. Subscribe to keep collaborating. When the trial ends, the account drops to Free and other people's workspaces pause, as after any trial. A trial from an invitation uses up your regular 30-day trial, so the plans screen no longer offers Start 30-day trial, only subscriptions. You can subscribe at any time, also during the trial.

I still pay for a subscription.

A free plan does not stop a store or Stripe subscription. Cancel it with Manage subscription in the dialog after accepting, or later in Settings. A running subscription for the same plan stays in front until it ends, then the invitation plan takes over. An invitation to a higher plan, like Ultra while you pay for Pro, applies right away.

It says the account already has an equal or better plan.

You see This account already has an equal or better plan. Your account already has a plan from an earlier invitation that is at least as high and lasts at least as long, or it is a founder lifetime account. Nothing changes, and your current plan stays.

Do I have to verify my email?

Not through the link. Accepting the invitation proves the address, so Zeitlicht marks it as verified. A new account gets no verification mail, and an existing account that was not verified yet is verified when you accept. Without the link you do: the plans screen only shows the invitation once the address is verified.

Can I go from lifetime Pro to Ultra?

Yes. In Settings, tap the plan row Pro, free for life to open the plans screen and subscribe to Ultra. You have Ultra while the subscription runs. If it ends, lifetime Pro stays.

I do not have the email.

Every mail from Zeitlicht arrives from the sender ZEITLICHT, so search your inbox and spam folder for that name. If the link has expired or got lost, ask the Zeitlicht team for a new one. If you already signed up with the invited address and verified it, the plans screen shows the invitation too.

Is the email legit?

The footer of every Zeitlicht mail links to Imprint, Privacy, and Terms on zeitlicht.app. The invitation link itself always points to the Zeitlicht app. Accepting never asks for payment details.
