Set an estimate

I want to …

… give a task a Fibonacci or time estimate that can also feed a column limit.

Before you start

  • The module belongs to Pro and Ultra.
  • Fibonacci values are fixed (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, …). Time is a value you enter.

Here's how

  1. Open the Estimate block on the card or on the task.
  2. Choose Fibonacci or Time.
  3. For Fibonacci, tap one of the suggested values. The card then shows something like 5 pts.
  4. For time, enter minutes or the offered duration.
  5. Clear estimate empties the field.
  6. If the column limit is Fibonacci sum or Time sum, this estimate flows into used/limit.

The result

The card has a size. Column limits can add those sizes up.

Common questions

Can a task have both points and time?

No. It is either Fibonacci or time.

Does Done still count toward a limit?

Done has no limit. Only work columns sum estimates.
