Add a checklist

I want to …

… keep a checklist with several items on a task and check them off.

Before you start

  • Checklists belong to Pro and Ultra.
  • In workspace settings you can turn the module on by default for new tasks.

Here's how

  1. Open the task.
  2. Scroll to Checklist. If it is missing, tap Enable Checklist.
  3. Tap Add item and type the first point. Enter creates it.
  4. You can paste several lines at once. Zeitlicht then creates one item per line and reports items added. That message disappears on its own. Until then, Undo removes the new items.
  5. Tap the box on the left to complete a point.
  6. Drag the handle on the left to change the order.
  7. Move done to bottom sends completed points down.
  8. The three-dot menu on a row copies the text or deletes the row.
  9. The board card shows progress as a fraction, for example 2/5.

The result

The task has a checklist. Progress is visible on the card.

Common questions

Do completed points disappear?

No, not until you delete them. Move done to bottom only sorts.

Does a recurring task reset the list?

Yes. The nightly run resets checklists and moves the task to the target column.
