Start a fixed-duration timer

I want to …

… start, pause, and reset a timer with a fixed number of minutes.

Before you start

  • Ideally a task sits in Focus. The timer still runs without one.
  • The board remembers the duration.

Here's how

  1. Open Timer in the navigation or tap the Focus strip on the board.
  2. Choose the Fixed mode, not Pomodoro.
  3. Set the duration with the minutes field or the sliders. Plus and minus change it by one minute.
  4. Tap Start. The light column starts to burn down and the display shows time left.
  5. Pause holds, Resume continues, Reset returns to the full duration.
  6. When time is up you hear the chosen timer sound and see Time.
  7. While the timer screen is open, the display stays awake.

The result

A fixed session runs against the light column. Play, pause, and reset sit on the clock.

Common questions

Does Reset change the saved default duration?

No. Reset returns the current session to its start value. Change the default by setting the minutes before you start.
